The nominated charity for 2026 is GWAAC – (Great Western Air Ambulance Charity)
This amazing charity provides emergency care to people who are in a state so critical that they require the specialist skills of the team at the scene of the accident or medical incident. Although they are part of the regional 999 response service and work closely with NHS hospitals, they are a charity funded by local people.
GWAAC saves lives across Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset and parts of Wiltshire.
It’s with the support of fundraisers that keep the air ambulance going, so their specialist teams can continue to save lives.
Back in May, one of our Engineers, Josh Stafford-Smith abseiled over 80ft from the roof of Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol raising over £300 for the Great Western Air Ambulance
It might not seem high to many but abseiling down and away from a wall of vertical structure is no mean feat! Well done Staffy!
