Our sustainability commitments, proven by our projects:

Low-GWP Refrigeration Upgrade

Replaced an ageing refrigeration system with modern, low-GWP alternative for a leading meat processor. The installation now delivers stable cooling at 1°C for a 315 m³ store processing 5,000 kg of meat per day. It combines reduced running costs, minimal emissions, and future-proof refrigerant choice, all completed with full UKCA certification and safety compliance.

Laboratory Testing Facility: AHU Replacement

Performed an AHU Replacement at a Laboratory Testing Facility. The installation of the new AHU guarantees uninterrupted operation of the laboratory’s critical testing functions. The modern, highly reliable system has replaced the outdated and failure-prone unit, securing long-term operational stability.

Planet Mark Certified

  • At SK Heating and Cooling, our commitment to continuous sustainable improvement has been commended through receiving a Planet Mark, a highly recognised and respected certification. 

    SK Heating and Cooling has achieved this by reducing emissions per full-time employee by 5.6% compared with the previous year, thanks to our environmental services and the results they deliver. This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to managing and minimising our environmental impact.

Our Policies

We aim to promote more environmentally friendly and energy efficient products to customers and this ethos must be reflected in the way the we conduct our own business. We will set and review environmental objectives and targets annually.

Water

At SK Heating and Cooling, we take responsible water management seriously. Our policy sets out how we use water efficiently, reduce unnecessary consumption, and manage wastewater safely across all operations. 

By aligning with ISO 14001 standards and meeting strict legal requirements, we minimise environmental impacts, support Legionella control, and drive continuous improvement through monitoring and audits. 

This approach forms a key part of our wider commitment to sustainability and responsible resource use.

Waste

At SK Heating and Cooling, we are committed to reducing waste and managing it responsibly across all operations. Our Waste Management Policy follows the waste hierarchy — prevent, reuse, recycle, recover, and dispose only as a last resort.

By working with licensed partners, complying with UK legislation, and embedding best practice under ISO 14001, we minimise environmental impact while supporting a circular economy.

Through monitoring, training, and continuous improvement, we ensure waste is handled safely, legally, and sustainably.

Energy

We are committed to managing energy responsibly across all our operations. Our Energy Policy focuses on reducing consumption, improving efficiency, and integrating renewable technologies where possible.
